Nike of Samothrace

Goddess of Victory, the personification of triumph. She was not only the goddess of victory in war but of peaceful victory in the Greek Olympic Games.

The late antique marble original is at the Louvre in Paris. A full-size bronze replica came to Waldemarsudde in 1905. Prince Eugen paid 7,000 francs for the replica. The shop stocks a bronze Nike statuette that is approximately 30 cm tall.

Rose petal soap and garden soap
Two types of handmade soap made with rose petals and herbs from Waldemarsudde's garden.

Historic artisanal soapmaking:
The flowers and herbs are picked and their essences distilled. The aromatic oil is mixed with lye, herbs and the finest vegetable oil. The resulting mixture is dried for seven weeks to produce a mild soap that is gentle on the skin. The garden soap has a mild peeling effect for use after outdoor work and makes a lovely shower soap. Produced by Solhöjdens tvålmakeri.
